AI & listing disclosure
Last updated: 2026-07-19
In plain English
Every Stagefront result carries a clear label — Virtually staged or Digitally enhanced — in the product and on exported files. Listing portals and MLSs ask for this, and it works in your favor: buyers arrive with the right expectations, and your listing stays up. The label is not a caveat. It is what makes AI staging safe to use on a real listing.
What the label says
- Virtually staged — furniture and décor were added digitally. They are not physically in the room. Walls, windows, and floors stay as photographed.
- Digitally enhanced — lighting, sky, or clutter were adjusted. The property’s features remain as photographed.
That is the whole promise: the image shows how the home can look, the label says what was changed, and nothing is presented as a physical renovation.
Why listing portals require it
MLSs, listing portals, and consumer-protection rules in many markets require marketing images to disclose when they have been materially altered. The exact rules differ by country, association, and portal — but a visible label is the widely accepted way to meet them. Stagefront makes the label the default, so compliance is not an extra step you have to remember.
Why the label protects you
When a buyer sees “Virtually staged”, they expect an empty or differently furnished home at the viewing — and the visit confirms your marketing instead of contradicting it. Undisclosed edits can do the opposite: complaints, a portal taking the listing down, or a buyer renegotiating on trust rather than price.
The label also sits next to your originals. Every Stagefront project keeps the unedited photo alongside the result, so you can always show exactly what the camera captured.
Labels we apply
In the product UI we show badges such as Virtually staged (typical for interior furniture packs) and Digitally enhanced (typical for buildings, declutter, and light cleanup). Free-tier downloads also include a Preview · Stagefront watermark. Paid plans download without the preview watermark but still receive a thin disclosure bar on exported files, so MLS-safe habits are the default.
Your obligations
- Review every output before publishing.
- Follow local MLS, portal, and consumer-protection rules for your market (they differ by country and association).
- Do not use Stagefront to misrepresent square footage, structural condition, views that do not exist, or completed renovations that were never done.
- Keep original photos when rules require them alongside staged versions.

Example captions you may adapt:
“Virtually staged — furniture for illustration only; property may be empty or differently furnished.”
“Digitally enhanced photo — lighting and sky adjusted; features of the building remain as photographed.”
Limitations of the AI
Models can invent or omit details, change paint perception, or misread room type. Stagefront is a productivity tool, not a substitute for professional photography ethics or legal advice.
